Audley started the game stronger and were rewarded 5 minutes into the game when Daniel Taylor met a Brad Dawson corner hitting the back of the net with a crisp right footed effort. Audley had further efforts in the half, but were thwarted by some excellent keeping from Blurton’s Miles Pearson.

Audley struck early in the second half when Brad Dawson collected the ball on the edge of the box and hit an unstoppable left foot shot to make it 2-0. Audley had further chances from Saul Forster and Nico Culverwell but the keeper was a match for their efforts. Michael Till and Maca Coleman combined well to create a chance for Blurton but  Jordan Rhodes, Audley’s keeper, made an outstanding save.

Game 2      Audley United 2 Blurton Lions 1

Blurton started Game 2 stronger than Audley, forcing them on the defensive; Maca Coleman and Michael Till again combining well to force another good save from Audley’s Jordan Rhodes. Blurton were caught by a sucker punch though. The ever busy Ryan Thomas picked up the ball on the edge of his own box and ran the length of the field before hitting an unstoppable shot to make it 1-0. Audley had further chances from Ryan Thomas, Daniel Taylor, Joe Finney and Henry Thirlwall before the impressive Daniel Taylor latched on to a Henry Thirlwall through ball and hit his shot past the keeper, 2-0.

The second half was dominated by Blurton but strong defending kept them at bay until a Flynn Mountord shot was saved by Jordan Rhodes only for the excellent Maca Coleman to finish and make it 2-1. Florence v Audley United

Game 1      Florence 0 Audley United 2

Audley  applied pressure from the start of the game, forcing two early corners and goal line clearances. Audley’s front three of Ryan Thomas, Daniel Taylor and Brad Dawson supported by the hard work of Henry Thirlwall caused Florence problems, and but for excellent defensive play and goalkeeping from Florence would have gone in at half time with a comfortable lead. Audley had to be content with the one goal lead at the break. Daniel Taylor received the ball from a Brad Dawson throw and hit an unstoppable half volley into the top corner of the net. Audley’s defence were rarely troubled and when Florence broke their defensive partnership of Josh Wilson and Joe Finney, supported by Midfielder Henry Thirlwall,  were up to the challenge.

Audley dominated the second half but had a scare when Florence won a free kick and goalkeeper Jordan Rhodes was forced to parry the ball out for a corner from the ensuing shot.

Audley then went on to apply further pressure. Ryan Thomas, Daniel Taylor and substitutes Nico Culverwell and Saul Forster all going close before Brad Dawson was first to react in a packed penalty area to put the ball into the back of the net. 2 – 0 Audley.

Game 2      Florence 0 Audley United 1

The first half started with Audley pressurising and the ever busy Brad Dawson was first to the ball from a Florence goal kick, but his left footed effort went wide. Audley had further chances in the half but were denied by some good goal keeping and defending.

Florence started the second half stronger but were unable to penetrate Audley’s defence with Ben Green, Josh Wilson and midfielder Henry Thirlwall restricting Florence to one long range effort which was hit wide. Audley withheld the early pressure and their impressive front three again applied constant pressure and despite some excellent work were unable to hit the net, until Florence’s goal keeper’s clearance found Daniel Taylor who hit his shot past the unfortunate keeper. 1 – 0 Audley

Game 1      Audley United 1 Stoke All Stars 1

The first half was dominated by Audley but they failed to capitalise on their chances. Stoke All Stars defended well, restricting Audley to few clear chances. The closest Audley came to scoring was when Josh Wilson headed a Brad Dawson corner over All Stars’ bar.

Audley started the second half strongly but were unable to break the deadlock until Daniel Taylor picked up the ball from a Ryan Thomas throw and hit the ball past Charlton Harding, the impressive All Stars’ keeper. This woke All Stars and they attacked Audley’s goal with  Aaron Bedson and Ben Biddulph going close before with minutes remaining Ben Biddulph despatched the ball past Jordan Rhodes , the unlucky Audley Keeper.

Game 2      Audley United 2 Stoke All Stars 0

Audley started Game 2 strongly with Brad Dawson, Henry Thirlwall and Dan Taylor going close before a swift passing move between Ryan Thomas, Daniel Taylor and Brad Dawson resulted in Brad finding the net, 1-0. Audley had further chances in the half from Ryan Thomas, Henry Thirwall and Daniel Taylor but couldn’t turn their efforts into further goals. All Stars could have levelled the score when a goalmouth scramble from a corner saw Jordan Rhodes dive and save bravely at the feet of the All Stars attacker.

The second half saw Audley, again, come out on the offensive and defender Josh Wilson had the better of the Audley chances, hitting the post with a bullet header. Audley had further chances but did not find the net until Josh Wilson dived bravely to a low Brad Dawson corner and found the back of the net. All Stars had chances in the second half but excellent defending and goalkeeping kept them at bay. The game finished 2-0 to Audley.

From the ensuing break Moorlands opened the scoring, Audley’s keeper having no chance from the forward’s effort, 1-0.Audley’s heads didn’t go down, though, they continued to attack with Moorlands’ withstanding wave after wave of attack. Brad Dawson, Henry  Thirlwall , Ryan Thomas , Josh Wilson and Daniel Taylor continually thwarted by the excellent Moorlands’ keeper.

Audley started the second half in the same vein and were rewarded when Brad Dawson found a way past the advancing keeper, 1-1. Further Audley pressure saw Nico Culverwell go close before Daniel Taylor beat two defenders and hit an unstoppable shot into the net, 1-2. Biddulph Town v Audley United

Game 1      Biddulph Town 0 Audley United 0

Audley applied early pressure but resolute defending and top class goalkeeping kept them at bay.

In game 1 every outfield player for Audley had efforts on goal but to no avail the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Game 2      Biddulph Town 0 Audley United 1

Game 2 followed the same pattern, Audley attacked and Biddulph defended ruggedly. Most of the game was played in Biddulph’s half but they were quick on the break and could have opened the scoring but for an excellent save from Audley’s keeper Jordan Rhodes.

Audley finally broke the deadlock, but not before a fine penalty save from Biddulph’s outstanding goalkeeper. A Nico Culverwell corner was headed into the top corner of the net from Audley’s Henry Thirlwall giving them a deserved and well earned 1-0 win.

Game 1      Audley United 5 Newcastle Town 0

On a wet and drizzly Sunday Audley United and Newcastle Town brightened the day up for their watching supporters with an excellent game of football played in good spirits with assistance from a top class referee.

Audley had the first couple of chances; Ryan Thomas being thwarted when his shot was blocked by Newcastle’s excellent defender Connor Brylczac, and from his ensuing corner Josh Wilson was unlucky when his header went sailing just over the bar. Newcastle broke and a Jack Groves found Tom Hope who fired his shot over. Minutes later Audley won a corner and Dan Taylor volleyed home, 1-0. Half time was approaching when Audley’s Brad Dawson picked up the ball on the right and his right foot cross found Dan Taylor and he hit an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner, 2-0.

Newcastle were fired up after the break and it took excellent goalkeeping from Jordan Rhodes who saved at the feet of the ever busy Newcastle Midfielder Jack Groves. Groves had a further effort saved by Rhodes and Newcastle went close when a Tom Hope cross found Elliott Colclough, who headed over the bar. Audley had chances to increase their lead, Joe Finney heading over, Dan Taylor forcing an excellent save from Newcastle’s Jacob Durber, but ironically Audley’s next goal came from a Newcastle corner! Henry Thirlwall’s long range pass out of defence found Dan Taylor and he raced clear to claim his second hat-trick of the season, 3-0. Audley’s and Dan Taylor’s fourth came when Dan met Nico Culverwell’s corner to head home, 4-0. Audley weren’t finished and a fine through ball from Saul Forster found Nico Culverwell who found the top corner of the net, 5-0.

Game 2      Audley United 3 Newcastle Town 0

Audley played some excellent passing football in Game 2  but couldn’t breach Newcastle’s defence, Brad Dawson went close twice, Dan Taylor shot wide and Ryan Thomas forced an excellent save from keeper Jacob Durber. It was Birthday boy Ryan Thomas who broke the deadlock when Daniel Taylor found him in space and he hit the back of the net with a fine shot, 1-0. Audley had further chances but excellent defending from Newcastle’s Logan Vernon and Connor Brylcak kept Audley at bay.

The second half saw Newcastle once again start strongly and but for fine defending they could have equalised. Jack Groves was clear, but a fine last ditch tackle from Joe Finney denied him a chance. Another excellent effort by Jack Groves hit Audley’s post rebounding out to safety. Audley weathered the early pressure and started to play with more purpose. They had three further efforts before a Brad Dawson corner was headed home by Dan Taylor, 2-0. They added a further goal when Saul Forster hit an unstoppable shot past Newcastle’s stand-in keeper Tom Hope,  3-0. Newcastle weren’t finished, though, and a long range effort was heading for goal when Ben Green intercepted with a fine headed clearance.

Audley won the game but Newcastle should be congratulated for a fine, spirited effort and the referee deserves a special mention for his control of the game and the players, constantly encouraging and congratulating both sets of players for good play
